  5. Hello, my name is Jonathan Logan and I’m a senior counselor at Camp Cherokee for the last 6 camp seasons. This year was much different then many of the previous years; I stepped into a team of dedicated individuals who wanted nothing more then a total camp transformation and they were successful! Not only has the appearance of the camp changed but the attitude is completely different as well. I’m excited to be a part of the change that will continue to happen and the confidence that Camp Cherokee is the best around is a reality now!

  6. Jon Logan's right! This has been a great summer! I'm Jen, and this is my second summer doing arts & crafts at Cherokee. WHAT A BIG CHANGE! My classroom's been scrubbed, repaired, restocked, and made ready for creativity! Some of the projects this summer included: mural painting, origami, totem-pole building, paper-marbling, paper lantern making, paper-dying, game-making, scratch & sniff water-coloring, painting, braiding & weaving, and hand-building with clay. What makes Cherokee special is that because it is a very tight-knit staff, campers can enjoy a little freedom. With permission from their Counselor, campers can come down to Arts & Crafts for extra time working on a project, tips for improving craft skills, or just to try a new craft or project. Campers are supervised, activities are monitored, but not with the rigidity of other camps. We have a safe, friendly, open summer camp, where a kid can follow their interests, have little adventures, and BE A KID!
